About EYO

Meeting basic needs is the first step toward brighter futures.

At Empower Your Own, we believe every child deserves access to food, basic necessities, and the opportunity to live with dignity. We're a community-based organization in Laikipia, Kenya, partnering with schools, children's homes, and community groups.

In institutions stretched to cover the basics, joy often gets left behind. Soul Food Sessions brings it back - a monthly celebration of love, consistency, and care. This isn't just food; it's how we feed resilience.

What's on the table

Full lunch & dinner for 25–30 children: chapati, beef, cabbage, fruit juice, cake, music, storytelling & dancing.

Esther Kairu

Founder, Empower Your Own (EYO)

Driven by the belief that serving the community is both a responsibility and a catalyst for sustainable development, Esther connects local challenges with practical, community-led solutions.

She brings experience in governance, nonprofit strategy, and community development. In 2023, she was recognized among the Top 100 Young Urban Leaders globally through the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Local Pathways Fellowship.
